Helga Stegmann | Decolonizing LLMs: A Framework for AI in African context

A framework to anticipate risks posed by LLMs and enhance local agency across complex social, technological, and linguistic landscapes.

This talk examines LLM deployment through African lenses that engage the continent’s complex social, technological, and linguistic landscape. We propose an adaptable framework for LLM research based on an extensive synthesis of research literature and our primary research in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. Our work unearths instances where LLMs could perpetuate digital colonialism or exacerbate existing sociopolitical tensions, as well as how they are contested and adapted. We emphasize the imperative for an embodied ethnographic approach that engages the inherently fluid, flexible, and multicultural nature of language, and connects LLM technologies with the complex social contexts in which it is built and deployed.

Evita Stoop | Accelerating your journey to embedding AI in your business: From vision to implementation

Businesses continue to struggle to transform their organizations with AI—but most believe a breakthrough is on the horizon. According to recent findings, almost two-thirds of leaders expect their AI portfolio will drive real business results within the next two years. But that will require rapid change, as only 24% say their organization is innovating with AI today.

In my team of IBM Client Engineering, we co-create with our clients and partners to build MVPs around AI solutions. Our value engineering approach is a proven methodology to quickly define, scope and demonstrate business value with real business’ data and our Watsonx technology platforms.

On the back of several use case examples, I will talk about the opportunities and challenges that we see how to accelerate your journey to embed AI in your business and offer insights on how to move from vision to implementation.

Alex Jacobi & Matthias Lange | 2 Founders and 98 AI Assistants: How We Run Our Brand—From Golden Circle to LinkedIn Comments with AI

666 days ago, we discovered a fundamental principle for successful AI implementation: AI can be overwhelmed just like humans if it juggles too many tasks at once without clear structure. Our solution? We organized it into specialized “AI teams,” each responsible for one specific marketing function. Just like a human team. Today, this approach is often referred to as “agentic.” These teams are guided by a comprehensive Brand World Model.

This model draws on over 60 pages of brand strategy, frameworks, personas, and content guidelines. Instead of operating from a single knowledge base, we leverage finely tuned snippets of information that are applied contextually to fit specific situations. This method ensures that our AI agents deliver consistent, on-brand messaging—from high-level “Golden Circle” strategy to day-to-day LinkedIn comment management. Crucially, we’ve learned that the future of marketing (and beyond) isn’t about full automation but about meaningful human–AI collaboration.

In this session, we’ll demonstrate how we structure our AI teams, the processes we use to ensure quality and consistency, and the prompting methods and tools that drive tangible marketing results. Attendees will leave with actionable insights on integrating AI into their own marketing and communications—without losing human creativity or authenticity.
